Jimmy FallonAKA James Thomas Fallon Jr.

Born: 19-Sep-1974
Birthplace: Brooklyn, NY

Gender: Male
Religion: Roman Catholic
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Comic, Actor

Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Saturday Night Live

Fallon did stand-up at 17 on an open-mike night, and won "best of night" honors, but levelheadedly decided to go to college instead of pursuing a career in comedy. After three years of college, performing stand-up occasionally on the weekends, he dropped out, moved to Los Angeles, and immediately landed a regular gig at the Improv. He signed on with the Groundlings comedy troupe, and eventually earned an audition with Lorne Michaels at SNL. A nervous wreck, he bombed. But after another year with the Groundlings, Fallon was invited to audition again -- a rare break. This time, he did spot-on impressions of John Travolta and Adam Sandler, and was hired on the spot.

Fallon's most popular recurring characters were Sully the high-school boy (opposite Rachel Dratch's Denise) and "Nick Burns, your company's computer guy". He co-anchored "Weekend Update" with Tina Fey for four years. He also did impressions of Sandler, Eminem, John Lennon, Alanis Morissette, Chris Rock, Keanu Reeves, Jerry Seinfeld, and Howard Stern, among others. When announcer Don Pardo didn't show up one Saturday Night Live in 2002, Fallon read the opening credits, doing a spontaneous Pardo impression. In reruns, though, the real Pardo was dubbed in.

Fallon left SNL at the end of the 2003-04 season, and took over Late Night from Conan O'Brien when O'Brien succeeded Jay Leno at The Tonight Show in 2009. O'Brien was soon bounced out the door as Leno returned, and Fallon succeeded Leno at The Tonight Show in 2014.
