Bellsouth
COMPANY
The U.S.'s third largest phone company, founded 20 December 1879 as Southern Bell by James Ormes. It became part of AT&T, but became Bellsouth in 1984 with the court-ordered breakup of that company. In 2006, Bellsouth was again acquired by AT&T.
