Founded 1990 by former Apple executive Jean-Louis Gassée. Its products were the BeBox, a computer released in 1995 using the AT&T Hobbit processor, and BeOS, an operating system for BeBox and the Power Mac. Be was acquired by Palm in 2001 for $11M.
