Director: Craig Zobel

Writer: Craig Zobel

Keywords: Thriller

True-crime drama focuses on a nefarious prank call to a fast-food restaurant and its devastating consequences.

Based on the real-life "strip-search prank call scam", a problem that plagued various grocery stores and fast-food restaurants in the United States until the arrest of Corrections Corporation of America employee David Stewart in 2004, Compliance focuses on Sandra, the manager of a fictional fried chicken establishment, as she falls victim to a prank call purporting to come from a supposed "Officer Daniels" falsely claiming that an employee of hers has been accused of stealing from a customer. Informed that the accused, Becky, must take part in a strip-search to ostensibly check for stolen goods, Sandra unwittingly places herself as a pawn in a twisted scheme revolving around sexual humiliation that leaves Becky traumatized and requires the attention of perplexed local authorities.
