Seven-year-old Olive Hoover, youngest daughter of a dysfunctional family, earns a place at the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in California after winning a regional pageant by default; the entire Hoover family piles into their dilapidated VW bus and undertakes a road trip from New Mexico to Redondo Beach. Good performances from the entire cast but Abigail Breslin totally owns this film.
