Two single adults must deal with the challenges of unexpected parenthood when their mutual friends perish in a car accident.

ABSTRACT
Holly Berenson, an Atlanta bakery owner, and Eric Messer, a television sports director for the Atlanta Hawks, hold a long-standing animosity for each other stemming from a poorly-executed blind date arranged by mutual friends and ultimately-married couple Alison and Peter. Selected as the godparents of the couple's new child despite their distaste for each other, the pair are forced into an awkward situation when Alison and Peter's death in a car crash shortly after their daughter's first birthday leaves Eric and Holly as the child's legal guardians as stipulated by their will, teaching them a classic Hollywood lesson about unconventional family units and learning to work together by film's end.
