ABSTRACT
Poppy Cross is a whimsical North London teacher with a smile on her face and a song in her heart, facing every challenge and conundrum in her life with a cheerful demeanor prone to drawing the ire of colleagues and students alike. We follow Poppy as a series of events ranging from the theft of her commuter bike to ill-fated driving lessons and a problematic pupil produce cracks in her optimistic foundation, weaving together a narrative about the elusiveness of happiness in our dysfunctional world. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
