Two Hong Kong residents of the opposite sex grow closer to one another when they suspect their respective spouses' infidelity.

ABSTRACT
Newspaper editor Chow Mo-Wan moves into a Hong Kong apartment building in 1962, becoming a neighbor to secretary Su Li-zhen and her well-to-do husband. A budding platonic friendship between the pair borne out of their extensive shared interests is thrown for a curve when they learn of their respective spouses' infidelity, leading them to seek each other out for comfort while insisting that they will not allow romance to factor into their own equation.
