Writers: Shibani Bathija; Niranjan Iyengar

Keywords: Drama

An Asperger's-afflicted Indian man takes a sarcastic suggestion seriously, launching him on a journey to the United States to attempt to acquire an audience with the President.

Rizwan Khan, a Muslim man from Mumbai, lives a life afflicted with Asperger's syndrome -- a high-functioning form of autism and double-edged sword that finds him blessed with a host of specialized talents at the cost of an inability to competently socialize and tendency to take things literally. When he manages to meet the woman of his dreams in spite of his social handicaps, the attacks of September 11 transpire, ushering in an era of anti-Muslim bias and ultimately sending Khan on an emotional journey across the United States after his disaffected spouse suggests that the only way to repair their marriage would be for him to clear his Muslim-sounding last name with the President.
