ABSTRACT
Famous middle-aged stand-up comedian George Simmons is diagnosed with an untreatable blood disorder, a grim prognosis promising him less than a year left in his existence. Driven to do good in the world before the curtain falls on his life, George takes "green" comedian Ira Wright under his wing after performing with him at the same comedy club one night, hiring him on as an assistant and personal opening act with a view to forming a real friendship before his time is up.
