The assassination of a leftist doctor prompts a journalist's investigation as involved parties act to keep the truth from light of day. Political thriller set in a country which is not mentioned but obviously Greece, the events surrounding the assassination of Grigoris Lambrakis in 1963. Won Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Film Editing; received additional nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay Adaptation. Won the Jury Prize at Cannes.
