St Elmo's Fire captures the essence of the college students beginning their careers after graduation. All had hopes of changing the world and high expectations only to meet the problems of the real world and everyday work. It shows their struggles as they adjust from the college life to career, their relationships, and finally figuring out in the end as they skip the bar to prepare for another day's work.
