Three young Irish women suffer at the hands of a twisted "Magdalene Asylum".

Three young Irish women are disowned by their strictly Catholic families in the 1960s and sent to a "Magdalene Asylum", forced to bend to the whim of twisted nuns more interested in their misery than rescuing them from their "fallen" dispositions. The Magdalene Sisters follows Bernadette, Margaret, and Rose, each remanded to the asylum for grievances against their faith, as they do their best to bond and persevere in the face of a repugnant system intent on their physical and mental defeat.
