Forty-year old Xavier, now a somewhat more mature individual looking to put the wilder exploits of his youth behind him as he embarks on a promising career as a writer, is thrown into an emotional tailspin when wife Wendy leaves him for an American suitor in glitzy New York City, taking their two children along with her.
