Director: Mervyn LeRoy

Writer: Dalton Trumbo

Based on a book: Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo by Capt. Ted W. Lawson with Robert Considine

Musical Score: Herbert Stothart

Producer: Sam Zimbalist

Dramatization of the Doolittle Raid, the brilliantly executed bombing of several Japanese cities on 18 April 1942. As such was thought to be completely impossible, it came as a complete surprise to everyone. Technical details accurately portrayed, filmed with real B-25 bombers. Story told from the viewpoint of pilot Ted Lawson, portions corny and melodramatic. Won an Oscar for Best Special Effects; received an additional nomination for Best Cinematography.
