Reboot of the Planet of the Apes franchise tells the story of how Earth came to be overrun by hyper-intelligent mutant apes.

ABSTRACT
Will Rodman, a scientist working for a biotechnology company known as Gen-Sys, is tasked with testing a drug designed to repair a human brain affected by Alzheimer's disease on captive apes. The drug, known as ALZ-112, is a smashing success when tested on an ape named Caesar, leading to the development of a gaseous substance designed to improve intelligence in "normal" humans that ultimately carries unintended consequences for the previously-dominant human race as a whole. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
