The Peacemaker (26-Sep-1997)

Director: Mimi Leder

Writer: Michael Schiffer

Based on a book: One Point Safe by Andrew Cockburn and Leslie Cockburn

Music by: Hans Zimmer

Producers: Walter Parkes; Branko Lustig

An apparent accidental nuclear explosion is actually a cover for the theft of a number of such weapons from the Russian arsenal about to be demilitarized. A White House staffer and an Army intelligence officer team up to try to find out where the weapons are going and retrieve them. And how exactly does this assassination of a politician in the former Yugoslavia come into play? A complicated story that is a stretch at a number of points.
