REVIEWS

Review by Ray Downes (posted on 30-Apr-2009)

This film truly conveys a sense of place. Robert Duvall does a masterful job with his portayal of Sonny, and you identify with his story and struggles. The film is so authentic, you actually feel like you've been transported to the bible belt. I could be wrong, but it really seemed that many of the players were not actors, but ordinary church folk, and they truly helped shape the feel of this film. The story was beautifully scripted, and the film moved along at a rapid pace. I'd recommend this film as highly as you can recommend a film.
