ABSTRACT
Andrew Paxton, a young New York City business professional, has spent the past three years as an assistant to domineering publishing company editor Margaret Tate. Faced with deportation to her Canadian home thanks to an expiring visa, Margaret hatches a scheme to arrange a sham marriage to Andrew for the purposes of staying in America, dragging him into awkward confrontations with INS agents and his family back home in Alaska with the promise of a promotion pending the ordeal's success.
