REVIEWS

Review by anonymous (posted on 24-Jun-2006)

This pseudo-historical drama aroused my interest when I first saw it in France (with French dialogue) while I was in the Navy. I will admit I enjoyed it better when I saw it on TV in English. As an Historian, I enjoyed the "what ifs" the movie posed along with a brief review of the Maya civilization in Central America. So many of these Meso-American civilizations rose, fell to barbaric invaders who built on the prior civilization, and were in turn conquered by other cultures during the centuries prior to the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadores in the 16th century.
