A hotshot open-wheel racer begins to crack under pressure, bringing an embattled driver on board to help salvage his season.

ABSTRACT
Jimmy Bly is the toast of CART racing, riding his way to the top of the standings with his talented driving and young-gun persona; as the season wears on and the championship looms large, however, he begins to falter. Car owner Carl Henry enlists the services of Joe Tonto, once-stellar racer who saw his career and marriage fall apart at the hands of a devastating accident, to mentor Jimmy and get him back into fighting form while mounting a comeback bid of his own.
