Review by Sam Wilson (posted on 1-Oct-2005)

The island where the nutty doctor (Moreau) changes animals into people, sorta kinda, with unwholesome results.

Brando in his who-gives-a rat's-ass mode, a la "Missouri Breaks", acting in a mirror, having a grand old time screwing up a crappy picture. Val Kilmer tries to emulate the master with his own eccentric, goofy performance, but by this time Brando's left the movie and nobody cares anymore. Apparently there came a moment during the filming when director decided to spend his days at the hote bar and let the picture direct itself. MOVIE: **1/2, BRANDO: ***
