Warren Beatty is J. Billington Bulworth, Democratic Senator from California who has accepted one too many compromises on his principles. Despite moving to the right, it is unlikely he can defeat the conservative Republican candidate. Bulworth purchases a $10M insurance contact and takes out a contract on his own life. It is oddly liberating; he unexpectedly discovers he can make honest statements and speak uncomfortable truths. This rallies quite a following, but it is difficult to cancel a hit.
