An embattled family looking to rebuild their lives in a North Dakota farmhouse are terrorized by supernatural occurrences.

ABSTRACT
The troubled Solomon family of Chicago relocate to a farmhouse in North Dakota, moved to do so by patriarch Roy's difficulty finding steady work and son Ben's hospitalization following daughter Jessica's drunk-driving accident. A strange flock of hostile crows affecting Roy's efforts to start a sunflower farm herald the arrival of terrifying ghosts detected by Ben and Jessica, specters that haunt the entire Solomon clan after they learn of the fate of the farmhouse's previous occupants and the true identity of John Burwell, a drifter who appears from time to time to work as Roy's farmhand.
