Fresh out of office after serving two terms, a former U.S. President returns to his Maine hometown to run for mayor against a local everyman.

ABSTRACT
Monroe "Eagle" Cole, a well-respected two-term President of the United States, retires to his hometown of Mooseport, Maine following his exit from office to seek refuge from ex-wife Charlotte and set up his Presidential library. Offered the town's mayorship in what is expected at first to be a token election, Monroe ends up attracting an opponent in average-Joe plumber and hardware store owner Harold "Handy" Harrison, a middle-aged man possessing an unlikely moral compass and desire to marry long-time girlfriend Sally Mannis.
