REVIEWS Review by Jude Steinman (posted on 24-May-2008) A dramatic and action packed great time. Bridget Fonda plays an unwanted, unloved drug addict who gets involved in a robbery gone bad and shoots a cop in cold blood. She is sentenced to die in the lethal injection chamber. As the needles are beginning to slowly put her out of her misery something happens. She wakes in a strange place only to discover that as far as the world knows she is dead and buried. She finds herself in a situation where she is given a choice, do as she's told or die. It makes no difference to the man who has taken her. After some serious fighting and attempts at escape she realizes that she must do as he asks, become a trained assassin working for the top levels of government. It is sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing but always entertaining. With the slo mournful ballads of Nina Simone playing in the background we watch a broken young woman slowly develop into a sophisticated, beautiful and deadly hit woman. The fun part is watching what happens when she is released upon the unsuspecting world with a new identity and a whole new set of issues.
This movie was a unique incredible story and is a must see for all Fonda lovers.
