Renfield, a solicitor from England, travels to Transylvania to finalize the sale of the derelict Carfax Abbey to Count Dracula, but ends up in thrall to the vampire. Both journey to Britain aboard the Vespa, but the ship's crew arrives dead and Renfield, the only survivor, clearly mad. Dracula locates Dr. Seward, the owner of the sanitarium where Renfield is incarcerated; he meets Mina, Seward's beautiful daughter, and decides she will be his next conquest. Groundbreaking horror film, with Bela Lugosi redefining the role of Dracula, his name forever associated with the role.
