Writers: George MacDonald Fraser; Richard Maibaum; Michael G. Wilson

From novel: Octopussy by Ian Fleming

Music Composed and Conducted by: John Barry

Knife-throwing twins kill Agent 009 who manages to reach the British embassy in East Berlin just before expiring. In 009's possession is an expertly counterfeit Fabergé egg; Bond attends the auction of the genuine egg in London, finding it purchased by an Afghan prince resident in India. There he uncovers jewel smuggling ring run by one "Octopussy", used as a cover to get a rogue Soviet nuclear weapon into West Germany. Uneven quality and slow at times, but among Roger Moore's better outings as Bond.
