CAST REVIEWS Review by Ronnii Bee (posted on 4-Jan-2008) Although this movie is now dated, it is the one movie that always reduced me to tears. I was born 10 years before it was released, and was probably in my teans when I first saw it, it had me howling into the kleenex.
I had a chance to watch it recently (in the last 6 months) as I said it is a little dated, the acting is old school, but the story was about teenage pregnancy and of the secret affair of tow of the parents. Whereas today, this problem is not as socially scandalous as it was in the 50's & 60's.
People are more blase' about such things.
I have always been a fan of Richard Egan, he was my "hearthrob" in my younger days. Dorothy Maguire was brillialnt as was Constance Ford who Played the Jealous wife of Richard Egan, she was brilliant.
I would like to see it remade as I was never a big fan of Troy Donahue. It would be interesting to see the comparison of today's style as opposed to the 50's style of acting.
Do you know something we don't?
