The Hoodlum Saint (4-Apr-1946)

Director: Norman Taurog

Writers: Frank Wead; James Hill

Musical Score: Nathaniel Shilkret

Producer: Cliff Reid

Keywords: Drama, Journalism

William Powell is Terry O'Neil, a reporter returning to America after service in WWI who cannot find employment. He crashes a society wedding and meets Kay, played by Esther Williams (without a swimming pool and in a dramatic role over her head). Kay's connections are able to get him a job at a newspaper, and he spends the remainder of the Roaring 20s in greedy pursuit of wealth. Weak offering; has the feel of pictures made 10 years earlier.
