ABSTRACT
Tammy, Sparkle, and Delores Anderson, three African-American sisters living in late-1960s Detroit, form a musical group after assessing their respective musical talents and circumstances and deciding that they have little to lose by embarking on such an endeavor. When they soon become a popular act around town and start to attract the interest of major record labels, however, they realize that the concept of celebrity might not be everything they'd imagined it to be.
