Romantic epic documents the intersecting lives of two individuals in Australia towards the dawn of World War II.

English aristocrat Lady Sarah Ashley inherits a gargantuan cattle ranch in northern Australia in 1939 when her unfaithful husband is killed by an Aboriginal elder, bringing her to the Commonwealth nation in the South Pacific to assess the land. Determined to spare her land from cattle magnates hungry for a monopoly in the country, Lady Sarah teams up with rough-and-tumble farmhand Drover to drive thousands of cattle across hundreds of miles, forming a connection with the handsome -- if lower-class -- man as a series of obstacles including the Japanese bombing of Darwin complicate their mission.
