The Grass is Greener (23-Dec-1960)

Director: Stanley Donen

Writers: Hugh Williams; Margaret Williams

From a play: The Grass Is Greener by Hugh Williams and Margaret Williams

Music and Lyrics by: Noel Coward

Producer: Stanley Donen

Keywords: Comedy

British aristocrats Victor and Hillary Rhyall allow guests to tour their mansion to cover expenses; during one such tour, wealthy Texan Charles Delacro takes an interest in Hillary. Drawing room comedies were by 1960 out of fashion and this one betrays its stage origins, but is still quite enjoyable. Grant and Kerr's parts were originally contemplated for Rex Harrison and Kay Kendall.
