Director: John Hillcoat

Writer: Nick Cave

Keywords: Western

A 19th-century Australian lawman captures a wanted criminal, handing him an ultimatum to locate and kill his older brother.

Captain Stanley, a tough-as-nails British lawman working to restore order in the Australian frontier of the 1880s, captures wanted outlaw brothers Charlie and Mikey Burns following a hard-fought shootout. Stanley wants their at-large brother, rapist and murderer Arthur, most of all; he hands an ultimatum to Charlie, promising to spare Mikey from execution if he locates and assassinates Arthur within nine days. Favoring the life of his man-child younger brother over his reckless elder, Charlie sets out to perform his dirty deed.
