A bass guitarist living in Toronto embarks on a video game-like quest to win the girl of his dreams by defeating her "seven evil exes".

ABSTRACT
Scott Pilgrim, a 22-year old bass guitarist for rock band "Sex Bomb-omb", falls in love with American girl Ramona Flowers, a young woman who has been appearing in his dreams and quickly becomes the object of his obsessive desires. Upon being attacked by and subsequently defending himself against a man named Matthew Patel at a battle-of-the-bands event, Scott learns that he must successfully vanquish all seven of Ramona's "evil exes" in order to win over her heart.
