8 Seconds (25-Feb-1994)
Director: John G. Avildsen Writer: Monte Merrick Keywords: Drama, Rodeo
REVIEWS Review by Bubba (posted on 29-Mar-2005) Knowing how hard it is to condense a biography into a 90 to 110 time slot, exspecially one of such intensity, 8 seconds is a positive must see. How many "critics" can even pronounce rodeo and out of that how many have any respect for the stock or pros riding? 8 seconds not only makes one feel he is actually wittnessing what is happening but actually has a sentimental side in which the cast and crew put forth in expert detail.
Parts of the movie were highs and you felt them, parts of the lows you felt them, and the lull parts were just that but also gave a break from the emotional swings which the movie as in real life rodeo is part of the life.
I don't have any idea how the cast was chosen, but every character was right on the money. Anyone who wants a true feel with emotions of any PRCA or PBA circuit needs to check this out.
