French aviator André Jurieux has completed a dangerous transatlantic solo crossing; he expresses dismay that his lover Christine is not present to greet him. This creates a social debacle as Christine is married to the Marquis de la Chesnaye, though the Marquis is understanding as he maintains a mistress as well. André finagles an invitation to a party at the Marquis' château¸ intending to make amends. Revealed at the party is a decadent network of adulteries. Comedy of manners banned by the French Government; the film's negatives were destroyed.
