ABSTRACT
Ben Shepard, an ambitious young reporter, is in the midst of a story about American political militants when he finds himself on a trail leading to a widower and single father by the name of Jim Grant. Grant, a present-day attorney and ex-operative with the violent Weather Underground during the heaviest days of the Vietnam War, consequently finds himself embarking on a quest to rendezvous with an old lover, Mimi, and take advantage of her unique ability to clear his name before specters of his startling past close in on his freedom as a private citizen.
