REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 22-Oct-2006) An excellent trip back to the 1950's and a look at the upper class morals and prejudice regarding the Jewish people. At the same time it is a 'feel good' movie with a delightful music score of 50's songs, dancing, and dress of that age. Many of the young actors in 'School Ties' went on to greater fame... this movie showcases their already marvelous talents. Anger, struggle between 'rigth and wrong', morality, parental dominance, and social acceptance are questioned by the young people attending two posh private high schools in a quaint Eastern town. The students are reminded constantly they are "the best" ... and that they must live up to this reputation. This demand is too much for many of these high school boys, and leads to breakdowns, both physically and mentally. When attending class, the young men are required to wear a red and black striped tie, thus, 'School Ties'.
