ABSTRACT
Michael Sullivan, a Great Depression-era hitman performing work for mob boss John Rooney in the Quad Cities, looks up to his boss as a father figure, maintaining a relationship with him extending beyond the traditionally-defined boundaries of one's work. A mission performed on behalf of Rooney's unstable son Connor is witnessed by Michael's twelve-year old son Michael, Jr., leading to an unfortunate turn of events that sees Michael running for his life from his former employer as he struggles to explain his secretive background to his heretofore-oblivious son.
