ABSTRACT
William Miller, a young man living under the roof of conservative mother Elaine in 1973 San Diego, harbors a love for writing and rock music despite his mother's wishes for him to become a lawyer. Assignments performed for Lester Bangs and several other figures of the era lead William to the offices of Rolling Stone, where he embarks on an endearing coming-of-age journey filled to the brim with sex, drugs, and rock n' roll after he is asked to cover the rise of rock band Stillwater.
