A woman's alternateive course of treatment for her epileptic son draws her into a fight with the medical establishment.

ABSTRACT
Lori Reimuller, Midwestern housewife and mother of three children, finds her comfortable life disrupted in a terrible way when son Robbie's fall at school leads to a diagnosis of epilepsy. Various traditional courses of treatment fail as Robbie's health worsens and medical bills pile up, forcing the Reimullers to cancel their planned Hawaiian vacation and husband Dave to overextend himself at work as their house falls under foreclosure. Desperate to save her child, Lori forcibly removes a now-hospitalized Robbie from his bed to transfer him to Johns Hopkins Hospital, waging a war with the medical establishment as she places Robbie on an ultimately-successful experimental ketogenic diet.
