Three Aboriginal Australian women escape 1930s-era government-mandated indentured servitude, embarking on a journey through the Outback.

ABSTRACT
Daisy, Gracie, and Molly, three young Aboriginal women living near a "rabbit-proof fence" dividing northern and southern Australia in 1931, are ordered to be forcibly relocated to an internment camp for processing into indentured servitude as a consequence of white-supremacist government policies. The resilient young women stage a defiant escape from their camp and set out on a pilgrimage across the Outback, braving a 1,200-mile trek through inhospitable climes to return to their beloved mother's home along the rabbit-proof fence.
