River's Edge (10-Sep-1986)

Director: Tim Hunter

Writer: Neal Jimenez

Music by: Jürgen Knieper

Producers: Sarah Pillsbury; Midge Sanford

Keywords: Drama, Dark Comedy, Marijuana

A high school boy murders his girlfriend, but nobody believes him; he shows off her naked body by the river's edge, though none of his slacker friends turn him in. Inspired by Anthony Jacques Broussard's 1981 murder of Marcy Conrad. A strange film of teenage apathy and disaffection. Particularly memorable performances by Crispin Glover and Dennis Hopper.
