Lightning McQueen's plans to compete in the World Grand Prix are sidetracked when Mater gets caught up in international espionage.

ABSTRACT
Sequel to Cars (2006). Fresh off his fourth championship, Piston Cup veteran Lightning McQueen returns home to Radiator Springs to reunite with best friend Mater and girlfriend Sally Carrera. Departing to Tokyo with Mater in tow to compete in the newly-created World Grand Prix, the pair become tangled up in espionage when Mater is mistaken as the contact for a band of spies seeking to undermine a British oil baron's conspiracy to seize control of the world's fuel supply.
