A U.S. Army major held prisoner-of-war in North Korea is accused of treason and all evidence points to his guilt. A colonel looking into the matter determines that there is basis for a defense, but the accused refuses to exercise it. Suspenseful drama with outstanding performances marks Karl Malden's only foray into directing. For decades this film sat in a vault and viewing was next to impossible even for scholars.
