Set during the Great Depression, ten-year-old Annie is selected to stay under the care of billionaire Oliver Warbucks for a week to earn political brownie points; the child's presence grows on Warbucks. Received Oscar nominations for Best Set Decoration and Best Score Adaptation. Probably the best film adaptation of the play; Disney later produced two remakes, as Annie (1999) and Annie (2014).
