San Andreas (21-May-2015)

Director: Brad Peyton

Writers: Carlton Cuse; Andre Fabrizio; Jeremy Passmore

Keywords: Action/Adventure, Earthquake, Rescue Mission

A heroic fire rescue helicopter pilot must save his ex-wife and daughter when the Big One strikes California.

ABSTRACT
Caltech seismologists Lawrence Hayes and Kim Park investigate a series of recorded abnormalities near the Hoover Dam, hoping to confirm a theory capable of predicting earthquakes; their studies are proven correct when a massive quake destroys the dam, killing Park. Devastating earthquakes soon dot the San Andreas fault, throwing fire rescue pilot Ray Gaines into peril as he is forced to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save his ex-wife and daughter while the two cities are laid to waste.

Long on visuals and short on most other things, San Andreas is by-the-book disaster porn.
