A mercenary embarks on a mission under orders from a shadowy conglomerate to hunt down the last Tasmanian tiger, encountering unforeseen complications along the way.

ABSTRACT
Martin David, a lonely, skillful mercenary, is hired by multinational biotechnology outfit Red Leaf to head out to Tasmania to gather samples of the Tasmanian tiger, further instructed to kill all remaining tigers after doing so so that no rival companies may have a shot at extracting their DNA. Posing as a university researcher and taking up residence in the home of Lucy Armstrong and her two children, Martin finds himself forging an emotional connection with the troubled family, an unexpected development that threatens to compromise the integrity of his mission even as he draws ever closer to the elusive creature he was sent to target.
