N!xau, bushman of the Kalahari, recovers a coca-cola bottle tossed from an airplane window. Smooth yet hard, it makes a useful tool; such an object has never been encountered by his culture. Its presence introduces foreign emotions to his villages, such as jealousy. The elders decide that useful as it is, this problematic gift from the gods must be thrown from the edge of the earth. Received a César nomination for Best Foreign Film.
